Unlocking Success - The Silver Screen Snacks Process

The SSS Process is designed to start your project correctly and on budget. The following is a high-level summary of that process.

1. Discovery

  • Mutual NDA Signed.

  • Project / Product / Idea Overview.

  • Target Market Review & Identification.

  • SSS Suitability & Feasibility Review.

  • Review the base recipe and flavors.

  • Review packaging.

  • Ball Park Cost Per Oz Analysis.

  • Preliminary Go-No-Go.

2. Memo of Understanding

  • The MOU encapsulates the “Discovery’ and identifies the necessary data points for the Scope of Work.

  • The MOU explores and maps out what Silver Screen Snack will do and what the brand owner will do to complete the project.

  • The MOU seeks to list and prioritize risks and dependencies.

  • The MOU calls out additional questions that should be answered.

3. Scope of Work

  • The scope of work builds on the MOU.

  • It quantifies and summarizes precisely what each party will do.

  • It identifies all remaining open tasks in the MOU.

  • The numbers (costs, margins, profitability, demand forecasts, production capacity, etc.) are documented.

  • Identifies dependencies (internal) and interdependencies (external).

  • Calls out risk and mitigation strategies.

  • Maps out the timeline for the project.

  • Review Scalability.

  • Map a preliminary demand forecast.

  • Identify all suppliers and key vendors.

  • Identify all startup costs.

  • Review Quality & Food Safety Plan.

  • Identify all data deliverables and processes (PO Submission, Confirmation, Invoicing, Traceability, etc.).

  • Review Lead Times.

  • Serves as the foundation of a draft manufacturing contract.

4. Prototyping & Site Visit

  • Make samples.

  • Affirm or modify processes to complete production.

  • Brand owner visits Silver Screen Snacks.

5. Draft Manufacturing Contract

  • Legal (Terms, Conditions, Performance Clause, Liabilities, etc.).

6. Final Manufacturing Contract

  • Signed

  • Any startup costs are addressed.

7. Project Begins

Q. How long will it take to get your project started?

A. We won’t know exactly until we dive in. However, generally we can get to the “Discovery” stage very quickly… in the first few days of the initial conversation.
